Two minute doll talk...

I just took a look at the new Barbies available on BC.com and after careful consideration, the echo and cob webs in my wallet, I've decided that this girl will be my only purchase of the State Cheerleader lineup.  Have you guys seen that price?  Not a hint of articulation and they're $25!  Uh, yeah...not cool!

I'll take this girl ONLY because I have an extra articulate body in her complexion already lying around.  Anyway, which one if any will you guys be purchasing?

  1. It's funny that "I can be President" is articulated. Um, wouldn't a cheerleader need more articulation than a politician? I can't say anything there is moving me. But there seem to be a few different looking molds there. Your girl above blows them all away.

    1. Hey Dani! I know, right? All the President Barbie needed really was one articulate hand for waiving and ballot stuffing, LOL.

I adore my girls. :) I think they might be mad at me too, if I don't stop bringing in more ladies and not enough men. I'm actually going to wait on this girl and let flickr photos be my deciding factor on purchasing her. :)

  2. Probably none for me and I have a Barbie Fan Club reward that I could use. I guess I'll go browse the site just to make sure.

    1. I hear ya'! I'd save that reward for something good. I know the Stardolls aren't articulate but I think the clothing sort of makes up for it. I think the new Stardolls are due out this summer. There's one for sure that I want but knowing me, once I get a glance at flickr, I'll go hog wild!

  3. She's pretty. I am on no doll buying right now, so I will have to live vicariously through you all's pics of them.

    1. Actually, I really need to be doing the same thing, LOL. I need more men, clothing and play-sets before girls. I'll see what happens though. I don't think she's a sure thing but I really like the photo.

  4. She looks cute. I'm real partial to the Nichelle face so depending on how she looks I may jump in & get her. I haven't seen her face in a while. I will wait for the IRL shots before I buy. I'm trying to be good for convention in Sept..LOL

    1. I hear you. I would probably wait for the convention too. I could be wrong but I don't think BC will sell out too fast. :)

  5. I saw one with the Nichelle head mold, and I may get that one. Nichelle is not represented in my collection (yet).

    1. Oh yes, the Nichelle mold is pretty. I'm still debating but we shall see. :)

  6. I was real surprised not to see any articulation since the cheerleaders from many years ago were articulated. I am looking at these as more of a collectible than a play doll. Probably because all of the college cheerleaders I bought years ago are not only still boxed, but they are behind a glass cabinet. I have no plans to buy any of these girls, only because I have no ties to any of those schools. They would make awesome gifts for graduates of those schools and they would probably never debox or play with them. My PSU doll will never leave her box or my collection. It's good to see the President Barbies articulated. I think all 'play' doll should be articulated. I know there are many collectors who don't like articulated dolls, so my push for all articulated dolls is probably a little overboard.

    1. I know, it makes no sense to me the cheerleaders in 2012 wouldn't have any articulation. I like that the President Barbie comes in different skin tones and has the elbow wrist articulation but I'm not sure about the knees. In someone's flickr photo, they looked like bend-click knees. I'm hoping someone on blogger gets one of these girls and does a post on it so we can see. :)

  7. Hello from Spain: I really like the collection of the new Barbies. I agree with you that the body of this Barbie is not articulated. I always prefer to buy dolls with articulated body. keep in touch

    1. Hi Marta! I know what you mean, I feel the same way about the articulation. It's really becoming a downer.

  8. @Vanessa, I want to meet the collectors who don't like the articulated dolls. Then I would be their friend and trade my stiff bodies for their bendy ones. Oh, what fun we would have!

    1. Hi Brini! Oh wow, Evening Gown Barbie is gorgeous. I actually decided against this girl. Hopefully, I'll have one of my list girls coming at the end of the month. :)

  10. Your photo is delicious. I love this girl! I’m just so pouty right now because BC is either sold out or she’s not in stock yet. I loathe waiting but she’s ordered and at least I have something to look forward to. Like you, I found the price annoying because she will have to be switched to an articulated body, but when you love a dolly you have to do what you have to do, right? Will you restyle yours or keep her in her cheerleading costume?

    1. Hi, Ro! Thank you so much. Well, I decided against her because I'm saving for a much pricier girl that's been on my list for a couple of years now.

I was annoyed too by BC's advertising of her. She wasn't pictured in the catalog I received...not sure why. But...I'm super excited to see how you style her. :)
